It is with great sadness to announce, due to the current outbreak of COVID-19, the thirteenth edition of Tour Music Fest – The European Music Contest, will be postponed until 2023.
These past few weeks have been extremely difficult to get through, experiencing this emergency first hand here in Italy, to then to see this emergency spread across the entire globe. We have been working hard, evaluating every possible alternative that would allow us to organize this edition of Tour Music Fest in complete safety.
Seeing the complete uncertainty on how long this pandemic will continue to spread across the entire globe, undermining any attempt to structurally plan an event so geographically widespread and complex as Tour Music Fest, and considering the current restrictions issued by various governments to prevent the spread of the epidemic, we have decided to postpone the current edition of Tour Music Fest to 2023.
For the past 13 years, Tour Music Fest has been a meeting point, a place of growth and support for thousands of artists and fans from all over Europe, but in this moment of great apprehension, the most important thing is to safeguard the health of our artists, fans, our organizational team and the public of our events.
We perfectly understand the disappointment of many artists and fans who would have taken part in the event starting this coming May. Our organization team, judges, coaches, collaborators and partners, whom every year are ready, like they have been for the past 13 years, to put their professionalism to the service of Tour Music Fest, helping it become a place of growth, sharing and love for music, a natural habitat for an emerging artist. At the same time, we realize that the consequences of this decision must be secondary to the seriousness of the Covid-19 situation and to the priority of safeguarding the safety of others.
We are already working towards making Tour Music Fest even more spectacular, making the experience even more useful and effective for emerging artists who are searching to make their dreams come true.
We look forward to embracing, in the true sense of the word, all of our artists, so get ready because when all of this is over, it will be time to celebrate and music will be the fuse and the glue to healing our society.
The entire Tour Music Fest family would like to reach out to all of those who are fighting for their lives, for their loved ones or for their patients and we join the recommendations given to combat the virus. #Istayathome #Iplayathome #Isingathome

FAQ
Why postpone Tour Music Fest until next year instead of after the summer?
Tour Music Fest is a performing arts competition which implies live musical performances, representing an epicenter of sharing and contact between artists from various European countries. The current situation across Europe will be uncertain for the next following months, unfortunately this unpredictable situation does not allow us to program and organize such a complex organization like that of TMF.
Couldn’t you have modified the format to make it faster timewise speaking?
We have evaluated countless hypotheses, but we have not been able to find a formula that could live up to the mission and values that the event has been spreading for 13 years and that could provide participants with an experience of equal value.
Why not organize the competition online?
Tour Music Fest since the very beginning has been a Live Contest, where the live performances are what give the directions to the judging panel thus offering equal opportunities to each participating artist. An online competition would undermine this principle of equal opportunities and meritocracy, as the technical recording component and post-music production activities are factors that can alter the overall evaluation. The audio quality is dependent both on the equipment and the quality of the streaming connection, preventing an evaluation as objective as possible by our Judging Panel.
Furthermore, the Tour Music Fest philosophy differs than that of a typical musical competition. Tour Music Fest auditions are a moment of education and confrontation, where each and every artist comes into contact with our organizational team and judging panel, receiving a personalized consultation. All of this to make sure that it is a useful experience for the artist, in a motivating and educational atmosphere. We would not be able to fully convey our values and complete our mission if we were to create an online version.
I am already signed up to this edition, what do I have to do?
The XIII edition has not been cancelled but postponed. This means that soon you will be able to express yourself to your maximum potential, and live. At the moment, take advantage of this time to get yourself as well prepared as possible for your next audition. All of the artists who have already signed up to TMF are officially registered for the XIII edition. Our Artist Care will send you further information as soon as we are able to establish the end of the restrictions.
Have the 2023 audition dates already been set?
We are currently programming our calendar and you will be informed on developments shortly.
Have the Music Camps, Music Intensives, Berklee Music Camps, Songwriting Labs and Christmas Camp been cancelled?
Unfortunately at the moment we cannot announce an official program. The Berklee Camp, Songwriting Lab and the April Music Intensive will be recuperated as soon as the situation clears. All of the artists who are currently signed up, will be contacted by our Artist Care to propose solutions that may be programmed once the situation is clearer, probably after the summer. At the moment the Christmas Camp in December is confirmed.
